LICKING VALLEY KENTUCKY WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM

This program provides benefits to eligible households in the form of energy conservation improvements to the dwelling to reduce energy costs while the occupant’s live in a safer and healthier environment. Individuals can apply at their local Community Action Agency. You will need to provide proof of income for previous month for all household members, your heating bills for the past year, a copy of deed or title for dwelling and birthdates and social security numbers for all household members. Residence cannot have already had weatherization completed on it since October 1994.

WHAT THE LICKING VALLEY C.A.P. WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM OFFERS:

  • Education to clients in safety and energy efficiency
  • Professionally evaluates single family dwellings, multi-family dwellings, and mobile homes for safety and energy efficiency
  • Repairs or replaces furnaces as needed
  • Insulates homes as needed
  • Makes minor repairs to homes for health and safety reasons (windows, doors, ceilings, roofs, ventilation, etc.)
  •  Installs smoke or carbon monoxide detectors

WEATHERIZATION-Weatherization provides home assistance to income eligible individuals and disabled individuals residing in unsafe and substandard housing.  Work includes heat unit safety inspections, maintenance and replacement, insulation, weatherstripping and minor repair to doors and windows.  The purpose of this program is to help clients save on fuel costs.
